Custodial Supervisor

Visium Resources has been asked to identify qualified candidates for this Custodial Supervisor position. This position is a direct hire opportunity which is expected to be on-site at MCO International Airport (Terminal B).

Summary

The Custodial Supervisor will be responsible for assisting in the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of staff engaged in cleaning and maintaining the site premises by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate staff. Fulfills management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Qualifications :

• Ability to designate shift and area of work assignments for custodians and lead personnel; conduct training.
• Thorough knowledge of the standard methods, equipment, and supplies in a large- or small-scale janitorial activities of the service.
• Thorough knowledge of methods used in cleaning of a large or small facility.
• Knowledge of floor care (hard floor and carpeting).
• Ability to work with a diverse workforce.
• Ability to communicate effectively and maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to operate and use tools / equipment for training purposes.
• Ability to make the most efficient use of personnel as instructed, can delegate tasks and. assignments
• Ability to train and manage a large or small group of employees.
• Considerable knowledge of employee policies and procedures.
• Ability to follow instructions and respond using oral and written communication.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Ability to work effectively independently or with a team.
• Basic knowledge of general housekeeping methods and practices, cleaning products and use.

Physical Demands and Performance Expectations : The Supervisor position is a physically demanding position. The work requires routine walking, standing, bending, lifting heavy objects operating medium weight cleaning equipment. Supervisor must perform the duties outlined which comply with the facility / company policies and regulations to create a cooperative, safe, respectful and quality work environment.
