What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activity Staff- 11:00am-7:30pm position at VISTA MARIA?
TASKS OF THE POSITION
• Responsible for developing a monthly activity schedule for daily recreational activities.
• Coordinates with the Expressive Therapies Coordinator to ensure proper rotation with vendor-lead activities.
• Uses the Transition to Independence Process (TIP) curriculum to develop daily recreational and/or therapeutic groups, ensuring activities consist of at least one of the five domains.
• Leads daily groups for the clients, in-unit, during out-of-school hours.
• Coaches unit staff to adhere to TIP model implementation in staff-lead groups.
• Responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing off-campus therapeutic field trips and potential volunteer groups.
• Responsible for securing proper paperwork and ensuring staffing, as well as communication with Residential leadership for client participation.
• Assist with supervision of clients as needed, during activity groups.
• Provides direction and redirection to clients as needed.
• Responsible for preparing an annual activity plan and estimated budget for all activities and submitting to the DREAM/JTS Manager for approval.
• Responsible for overseeing the inventory and maintenance of recreation equipment and supplies in each unit.
• Submits equipment inventory reports periodically and/or upon request to DREAM Manager.
• Responsible for requesting client-related equipment and supplies as needed.
• Collaborates with Expressive Therapies Coordinator to implement program evaluation processes quarterly via client interest and impact surveys and provide data collection, as well as program recommendations as necessary.
• Communicate in a professional manner promoting a positive work atmosphere which includes role modeling positive engagement with staff and clients.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality on all agency matters.
• Serves on Agency committees as assigned.
• Participates in approved staff development activities, in-services, and training sessions.
• Other duties as assigned by DREAM/JTS Manager, the Director of Clinical Services, or any other member of Senior Leadership, keeping within the scope of the position.
