Vital Healthcare Solutions, the leading provider of behavioral health services in long term care is seeking a collaborative psychiatrist to provide support to our advanced practitioners. This would be a remote PRN position.
Job Duties include, but not limited to:
- Collaborate with nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other healthcare providers to ensure safe, effective, and holistic patient care.
- Provide supervision and oversight to NPs or PAs working under the supervision of a collaborating psychiatrist, ensuring compliance with Pennsylvania state laws.
- Offer expertise on psychiatric medications, potential side effects, and management of co-occurring disorders.
- Provide ongoing consultation to clinical staff regarding psychiatric care, assessment techniques, and treatment options.
- Participate in clinical meetings, case reviews, and discussions to improve patient outcomes and care delivery.
- Maintain licensure and certifications required to practice in Pennsylvania.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board-certified or board-eligible psychiatrist.
- Active Pennsylvania medical license in good standing.
- Strong understanding of psychiatric disorders, treatment modalities, and medication management.
- Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of Pennsylvania's laws and regulations related to collaborating with nurse practitioners or physician assistants.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in geriatric psychiatry or long term care settings.
