Freight Payables Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Freight Payables Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of freight invoices and vendor payments.

What you get to do:

• Monitor and manage the freight payables inbox to ensure timely communication.
• Review and process freight invoices, including rail, warehousing, parking, and shuttle services.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in payments or invoices, escalating issues as needed.
• Use tools like Cockpit and Kofax to code and process invoices.
• Conduct GRIR research and processing.
• Generate reports and handle miscellaneous tasks as required.

What we are looking for:

• 1-3 years of experience in Freight Payables, Accounts Payable, or Transportation.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing transactions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and formulas).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with urgency while maintaining high accuracy.
• Experience with or willingness to learn freight payment tools (training provided).

Work Environment & Schedule:

• Hybrid schedule: 3 days in-office (Thursday and Friday from home).
• Standard hours: 5:30 AM to 2:30 PM (flexible after training).
• Laid-back, flexible work environment with room for growth.
• Contract assignment with potential for direct hire.

Additional Details:

• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or Finance (actively pursuing is acceptable).
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make informed decisions based on reporting.

Job Types: Contract, Temporary

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

Experience:

• Accounts payable: 3 years (Preferred)
• Freight Payables: 1 year (Preferred)
• Microsoft Excel: 3 years (Preferred)
