Job Summary:
The Buyer is responsible for all the purchasing and logistics needs and contract administration to meet the manufacturing and service demands of VMRD.

Duties and Responsibilities:
•Evaluates and determines best supplier for company purchasing needs, reviewing the quality, price, and delivery performance of potential suppliers
•Generates purchase orders and sends to suppliers
•Meets with suppliers to lead cost negotiations and review supplier performance
•Facilitates contract negotiation and administration
•Provides data to company management to show the health of inventory levels and rate of turns
•Initiates purchase/assists with coordination of equipment maintenance and calibration
•Maintains stocking levels and re-order points in the company's ERP software system
•Participates in the development of specifications for products
•Reviews, evaluates, and approves specifications for qualified suppliers
•Represents the company during internal and external quality audits where the purchase of goods or services is a part of the audit scope
•Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•1 years of experience with purchasing/procurement
•Experience with Microsoft Excel
•Completes work with accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail

Desired Qualifications and Experiences:
•Experience with ERP systems
•3 years of experience with purchasing/procurement in a manufacturing environment

Education, Licenses and Certifications:
•Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent years of experience and education

Physical Requirements for the Job:
•Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Salary Range: $21.00 - 26.00 per hour
Our salary ranges are benchmarked for the eastern Washington region and similar positions. The range listed is just one component of VMRD's total compensation package for employees.
