Responsibilities
Essential FunctionsResponsible for performing radiological monitoring and surveillance duties. Specifics include:• Perform all monitoring duties and responsibilities• Perform and complete radiation and contamination surveys• Perform all radiation protection and radiological controls functions• Responsible for documenting all accurate radiological data and information• Responsible for compliance with radioactive materials licenses as well as federal, state, and local regulations.• Perform radiological air sampling as required by radiation protection procedures• Responsible for the radiological health and safety of operations at the Alaron facility• Responsible for documentation of radioactive shipments and receipt surveys• Performs calculations related to radiation protection• Provide guidance to employees regarding radiologically safe practices• Provide oversight of activities related to release for unrestricted use• Other duties as assigned
Decision-Making:• Decision making is guided by the Radiation Protection Supervisor Knowledge, Skills and Ability:• Strong customer service orientation• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and various email software• Strong team player• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills• Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines• Knowledge of radiological services needs and practices• Ability to operate fork trucks, overhead cranes, monitoring/survey equipment, other measuring equipment/devises
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:• Complies with all health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with Alaron and Veolia requirements• Applies independent and critical decision/discretion/judgement on matters of significance to Alaron’s operations• Attends all required training courses• Maintains a professional image to clients by answering inquiries and suggesting alternative solutions to existing or potential problems• Maintains up to date daily production logs and facility operations records• Assists with the monitoring of operations to ensure appropriate performance standards within the various functional areas of the site

Qualifications
Education/Experience:• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred• 1 year work experience as a radiation worker
Certification/Licenses:• 40-hour Radiation Worker Certification
