The Maintenance Scheduler is responsible for scheduling maintenance in a way that minimizes equipment downtime and impact on production. As a planner, look for opportunities to understand points of failure and eliminate chronic maintenance needs, increasing efficiency across the entire organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the scheduling of routine maintenance to the Maintenance Technician.
  • Balance the workload across multiple shifts.
  • Use data to predict maintenance needs 2 weeks in advance to anticipate downtime needs; relay information to Maintenance Coordinator to schedule downtime. 
  • Constantly adjust schedules to account for unexpected emergency work.
  • Schedule follow-up and work requests.
  • Check any past due work and rescheduling if needed. 
  • Kitting parts to work order.
  • Prepare preventative maintenance plans and schedules that are in sync with the organization’s maintenance goals.
  • Duties and tasks reflect substantial variety and complexity. 
  • Requires extensive knowledge in multiple functions. Is the resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.

Requirements

  • Possesses all basic and some advanced skills and knowledge. Has a thorough understanding of the total process flow.
  • Must have basic knowledge of a variety of computer software applications, in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. High frequency of keyboarding/computer work required (75% of the workday).
  • Two years related experience working in a similar role and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Environment:

The work environment is climate-controlled year-round. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. The noise level is loud and hearing protection is required on the manufacturing floor.

The following personal protective equipment (PPE) is always required when performing in this role while on the manufacturing floor: safety glasses and hearing protection. Food Safety protective equipment is required at all times while on the manufacturing floor: including hair nets, gloves, and, if applicable, beard nets.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and use hands to finger, handle and feel objects, tools, and controls. The employee is constantly required to stand, walk, bend, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds with mechanical assistance and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and 100 pounds occasionally. The employee must frequently kneel, squat, bend, and stoop, twist and reach overhead with repetitive motions. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
