Volunteers of America SELA is Hiring a Clinical Supervisor Near New Orleans, LA

JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible under general direction, the supervision of caseworkers providing Community Psychiatric Support and Treatment (CPST) counseling and other services. This person will also be responsible for providing individual service, coordinating day-to-day functions, and ensuring appropriate staff coverage. The supervisor will also be expected to provide direct CPST and other case management services and performing other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assessment of members through the use of clinical tools and review of member-specific health information/data, conducts comprehensive assessments of referred members needs/eligibility and, in collaboration with the members care team, determine an approach to resolving member issues and/or meeting needs by evaluating the members benefit plan and available internal and external programs/services and resources.
2. Applies clinical judgment to the incorporation of strategies designed to reduce risk factors and barriers and address complex clinical indicators which impact care planning and resolution of member issues.
3. Using advanced clinical skills, performs crisis intervention with members experiencing behavioral health or medical crisis and refers them to the appropriate clinical and service providers for thorough assessment and treatment, as clinically indicated.
4. Provides crisis follow-up to members to help ensure they are receiving the appropriate treatment/services.
5. Follows Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana (VOASELA) Performance Management process, including planning and ensuring that staff clearly understands and follows VOASELA policies and procedures.
6. Conduct an assessment of risk, mental status, and medical stability of clients that are in need of Crisis Intervention and follow up with Bayou Health carrier to obtain crisis units.
7. Personally maintain a caseload of clients for psychotherapy; performs a variety of direct clinical, diagnostic, assessment, treatment, and outreach services.
8. Must be willing and able to transport clients to necessary medical and other appointments, if necessary.
9. Participate in training required by accreditation standards, plus performance and quality improvement efforts by adherence to Performance, CARF, and Quality Standards.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
This position requires knowledge, skills, and abilities equivalent to:
A Master s Degree in social work or counseling, Louisiana licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or other equivalent and Medicaid approved licensure.
This position also prefers Licensed Mental Health Professional (e.g. LCSW, LPC, LMFT, APN, Licensed Psychologist/Psychiatrist). Level of Care Utilization System (LOCUS)/CALOCUS certification, case management, discharge planning experience, managed care, and crisis intervention skills are strongly preferred.
Candidates without current certification will be required to obtain certification post-hire. 3-5 years clinical practice experience (e.g., hospital setting, alternative care setting, home health or ambulatory care) required.
This position requires the ability to communicate clearly in person and/or via telephone communication, and in writing.
Requires the ability to provide services to the target population, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks concurrently.
Interact with appropriate agencies and persons in the community in developing services.
Have the ability to generate documents and spreadsheets using computer software including but not limited to, Microsoft Word and Excel.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal office environment
This position may require incumbent to engage in overnight travel, as well as, local travel appropriate to the performance of duties and responsibilities. As such, incumbent must have:
Current driver s license issued by the state of residence
Current Vehicle Inspection decal
Current vehicle insurance
Current vehicle registration in the state of residence
Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is primarily performed in a normal office environment while seated at a desk operating a personal computer keyboard, calculator, phone, and other office equipment.
