We have successful projects by communicating and working closely with our clients and a carefully chosen group of architects, subcontractors, and suppliers. Establishing a budget, putting together a construction schedule, understanding the permit process, and working through the many design decisions to be made, are only a few of the key aspects of our collaboration with our clients. Candidates must provide their own transportation and be available to travel in the state.

DRAFTSMAN JOB REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Working with the client during each project to ensure you understand the project scope and vision.
• Using computer-aided drafting (CAD) software to create full-scale and detailed designs of buildings and interiors.
• Remain up-to-date on local building codes and regulations and determine how they will affect designs.
• Visits jobsites to gather data needed to complete designs.
• Draw detailed and rough scale plans for structures, foundations and buildings based upon preliminary concepts, sketches, specification sheets, engineering calculations and other provided data.
• Bring together structural, mechanical and electrical designs and create a way or a method of accurately arranging them to produce building designs that are understandable and feasible.
• Gathering drawings and specifications, calculating material and equipment requirements and setting up production methods.
• Overseeing the beginning of each turn-key project, including details like permit submission and design evaluations.
• Representing VPC Builders in a professional manner at all times.

CONSTRUCTION QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• 2 years’ experience in construction or related industry
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Extensive knowledge of CAD software and other architectural drafting tools.
• Ability to read blueprints, structural drawings and plan sets
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes and equipment

Pay: $45,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
