Parts Associate

POSITION SUMMARY

The Parts Associate is responsible for supporting W.D. Matthews Parts Department in all aspects of day-to-day functions. This includes taking calls as well as in-person requests for parts and pieces related to material handling equipment, aerial lifts and construction equipment. The Parts Associate reports directly to the Parts Manager. This position takes place onsite at a W.D. Matthews facility behind the parts counter. This Parts Associate must work well both independently and as part of a team as this position works directly with other parts personnel, local technicians, shop foremen, branch managers and shipping and receiving personnel. This position is highly customer facing and requires strong customer service skills. This position requires extensive use of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Navision. This position requires two years of experience in a parts department. This position requires a high school degree as well as construction, automotive, heavy truck or industry related knowledge.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

· Use Microsoft Navision to build in purchase orders and invoices for parts

· Answer phone calls and handle customer walk-ins

· Check prices to ensure that they are up to date

· Maintain familiarity with vendor’s online ordering systems and return policies

· Track competed inventory reports

· Ensure the parts room neat, organized, and properly stocked

· Track all backorders and missed shipments

· Review and maintaining all open purchase orders

· Expedite the delivery of parts and equipment and tracking deliveries when necessary

· Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience and Skill Requirements:

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

· Two years of experience in a parts department

· Construction, automotive, heavy truck or industry related knowledge

· Excellent organizational skills

· Team player with the ability to problem solve and effectively manage time

· Strong computer application skills

Education Requirements:

· High school diploma or equivalent required

· Associates degree in related field preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
