Essential Job Duties/Key Accountabilities

  • Coach and consult with line management/leaders by recommending, initiating, implementing and interpreting policies and processes to ensure that the management of human assets is carried out in a consistent and equitable manner in order to maintain a productive work environment.
  • Oversee facility performance management and corrective action policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring positive employee relations.
  • Works collaboratively to properly align practices and systems with employee engagement strategies.
  • Must maintain an excellent working knowledge of the employee handbook to safeguard the company's ability to effectively run its operations.
  • Participate in problem resolution, discipline recommendations, and other related activities as required.
  • Administer the selection/staffing process and ensure that hiring and promotional activities are in compliance with Company policy and legal requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Develop and oversee local employee orientation.
  • Establish and maintain effective safety and security programs meeting regulatory compliance.
  • Champion safety within the plant environment by making regular safety audits/observations.
  • Provide technical safety expertise to operations management.
  • Ensure that adequate records are maintained.
  • Implement employee training and development initiatives directed toward meeting strategic, compliance, productivity improvement, and employee development goals.
  • Administer salary and benefits processes as needed.
  • Partner with Plant Management to implement and sustain lean manufacturing initiatives and training within the facility.
  • This will require maintaining a presence on the plant floor working with operations employees and management.
  • Plan and execute employee events relevant to benefits, wellness, recognition, training, and community involvement.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

  • PHR or SPHR certified
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Broad-based and progressive HR experience
  • Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Commitment to lifelong learning
  • Innovative, resourceful, and solution-oriented thought leader
  • Ability to lead change and achieve goals through cross-functional collaboration, influence, and business partnership
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to present to Sr. leadership
  • High energy and drive to promote a culture of wellness and continuous improvement
  • Self-directed, diligent, and a willingness to be a hands-on, working manager
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, social media sourcing, job boards, and preferably experience in a HRIS.
  • Must be able to travel within the company's facilities and to outside customers and suppliers as requested. Travel at 10% to 25%, but may be higher for short periods.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field (or commensurate experience), plus a minimum of five years of Human Resources experience.
  • Previous experience as the lead HR partner to the Plant Manager and senior staff
  • Previous experience managing a direct report strongly preferred
