Job Title: Provider Network Consultant - Behavioral Health
Contract Duration: 11 Months
Pay Rate: $21/hr

Job Overview:
This contract position is responsible for providing essential support services for individual and facility behavioral health providers, managing their contracting needs, and resolving related issues. The role is accountable for both internal and external communications, working closely with the Provider Network and Provider Relations teams to ensure smooth contract operations. The position plays a key role in building a fast-paced behavioral health provider network project with tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provider Support and Operations: Provide ongoing support to behavioral health providers and facilities by addressing inquiries related to contracts, systems, and directories.
- Issue Resolution: Research and resolve provider inquiries that arise from operational challenges, system issues, or contractual concerns.
- Internal Communications: Collaborate with the Provider Network and Provider Relations teams to facilitate contract and network build initiatives, as well as internal communications around issue resolution.
- External Communications: Educate and update the behavioral health provider community on Blue Cross Blue Shield policy updates, system changes, and contractual adjustments.
- Project Support: Assist in the development and execution of projects designed to build an efficient behavioral health provider network, ensuring adherence to deadlines.
Required Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree, or
- Two years of experience in the health insurance/managed care industry, specifically with behavioral health providers and/or facilities, with the ability to make independent decisions.
- Communication Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for composing responses to both external and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to create clear training materials and procedures for educating providers.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Ability to work effectively across various departments to resolve barriers to provider contracting.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft tools, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe PDF.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree with at least one year of business-related experience.
- Industry Knowledge:
- Familiarity with the health care industry, particularly contracts, products, and claims processing.
- Understanding of behavioral health services to support contracting efforts.
