We are looking for an experienced product leader that understands the market, develops scalable products and roadmaps aligned for growth and digital transformation. This person is accountable for the management of sustaining and new product introductions that enable greater rail network fluidity, effective planning, and overall safer operations across the global railroading industry. Responsibilities: Own product line profitability and defining path to year over year growth in orders, backlog, and margin. Lead a diverse team of product managers and operations researchers spanning multiple products across Dispatch, Back office, Scheduling, Planning and Operations such as Movement Planner, Dispatch, Service Design, TCOS, OASIS and Next Generation Terminal Operating System. Responsible for product lifecycle management from concept, launch, convergence, sustaining, retirement/obsolescence, and modernization. Manage an annual multi-million-dollar budget (sustaining, contractual, R&D) to deliver on return on investment, product roadmap initiatives, synergies, and development. Ability to play a trusted advisor to C-level customer executives, listening to build products that meet customer outcomes. Partner with end-customer, commercial and solution architects to understand market needs & vision; quickly translate that vision into demonstrable multi-generational software roadmaps for product and technology deliverables. Guide and align with cross-functional teams consisting of engineering, user experience, project, architecture, and services to execute product strategies. Facilitate product and business planning processes, including business case definition, market / competitive analysis, target customer identification and growth forecast targets 3-5 years out. Partner with commercial in the identification of target customer leads and pipeline to close and deliver on commercial orders/convertibility targets. Drive product adoption, go-to-market, and commercial campaigns to accelerate speed to market and commercialization of new, existing products. Ability to capture voice of the customer through well-established business rhythms and customer advisory boards. Own ideation process to gather new idea product concepts for rapid prototypes and socialization for customer interest and commercialization. Communicate effectively both within the immediate team and Wabtec leadership. Ensure direct team receives consistent messages and has a clear understanding of business product direction and strategy. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Minimum of 7 years of experience leading, managing, and developing software products Minimum 7 years of experience in a client facing product management, technology, or professional services role (e.g. SaaS, on-premise, cloud-hosted, managed services, etc.) Transportation or Logistics industry experience Willingness to travel up to 25% of your time both inside/outside to support customer discovery and product sessions Desired Characteristics: Business Acumen: Strong business analysis, problem solving, operations, project management and/or prior product management experience Evangelizes new technology and identifies new opportunities based on product and industry trends Able to define and set commercialization strategy for tiered product and services offerings Technical Expertise: Experience in designing and delivering software applications / products to external customers Understanding of the agile software development and deployment process Familiarity with product delivery, development and deployment process flows and activities with a demonstrated capacity for Product conceptualization Proactively drives portfolio and investment decision to balance customer needs, install base requirements (refresh) and long-term enterprise differentiation. Evangelizes concepts beyond current offerings and considers business model innovation (product, service, and delivery innovations) Leadership: Strong oral and written communication skills and presentation skills Proactively engages with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and design solutions using critical thinking and analytical skills and best practice Fosters culture of innovation and design thinking to align product vision/strategy to meet customer outcomes Wabtec Corporation is committed to taking on the world’s toughest challenges.
