About the Role
We are seeking a Rough Mill Team Leader to oversee and guide a team of approximately 12 members in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This leadership role involves coordinating daily operations, ensuring safety and quality standards are met, and driving efficiency in our rough mill department.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of 12 employees to meet production goals and maintain high-quality standards.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with safety and operational protocols.
- Oversee lumber processing and ensure proper grading and optimization of materials.
- Coordinate with other departments to streamline workflows and meet production deadlines.
- Conduct training and development for team members to enhance their skills and performance.
- Track and report key performance metrics, including production output, downtime, and quality benchmarks.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in a rough mill or similar environment.
- NHLA Certification or familiarity with NHLA rules is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of lumber grading and its applications in manufacturing.
- Proven experience leading and managing a team, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work Monday through Friday with occasional overtime as needed.

Work Environment
While performing duties on the production floor, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the production work environment can be loud.
