Position Title: Alumni Coordinator and Gift Officer
Department: Advancement
Position Summary: Warner University is seeking an energetic and organized communicator who can develop and maintain relationships with university alumni, secure financial support, and work with a broad range of university stakeholders to help the institution meet its growth and development goals. The selected individual will devote approximately half of his or her time to coordinating alumni relations and the other half to assisting the Advancement team in its general fundraising efforts.
Preference will be given to alumni of Warner University and individuals who have an exceptionally close connection to the institution. The successful candidate will both understand and value the cultural role of evangelical Christian higher education, and he or she will understand the importance of Warner University in central Florida and beyond. The chosen candidate must affirm and support the university’s Statement of Faith, and preference will be given to candidates who have some degree of theological education or experience in Christian education in an orthodox, evangelical context. The chosen candidate must be energetic about the university’s goal of distinguishing itself in the higher-education industry through commitment to historic biblical values.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule and coordinate alumni events
- Develop and manage a regular schedule of communication with alumni
- Alert alumni to university volunteer opportunities
- Assist in overseeing the university’s alumni-giving program
- Cultivate and solicit philanthropic support from donors and strategic partners (annual fundraising goal to be determined
- Participate in meetings with donors
- Assist in growing the university’s donor base
- Work with the Advancement and Business offices to receipt donations
- Research prospective donors
- Participate in donor stewardship and recognition processes
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with individual donors
- Assistant in the development and oversight of grant proposals
- Participate in special events throughout the year
- Utilize the university’s fundraising database (Raiser’s Edge) to create and maintain accurate giving records
- Oversee an annual budget for alumni initiatives
- Execute strategies to help the university achieve key strategic initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Excitement about Warner University’s vision, mission, and identity as an institution committed to biblical orthodoxy
- A minimum of a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree; master’s degree preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and experience in public speaking
- An energetic and relational disposition that puts other at ease
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong organization skills
- The ability to lead others in the coordination of projects
- The ability to work alone or as a member of a team
Other:
- Overnight travel will be required as needed and approved by the Vice President of Advancement.
- Annual fundraising and donor-relation goals will be determined in consultation with the President and the Vice President of Advancement.
- The chosen candidate should expect to dress professionally.
