Position Summary
Washington Regional Medical System, Northwest Arkansas' only locally owned, locally governed, not-for-profit hospital and health system is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our Washington Regional Gastroenterology Clinic. Our clinic is comprised of 3 Gastroenterologists and 1 Advanced Practice Provider.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Perform physical examinations of patients to evaluate health and diagnose illnesses
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as x-rays and laboratory tests
- Determine, plan, and provide appropriate treatment
- Prescribe and manage medications
- Collaborate with gastroenterologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive treatment plans
- Document and maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records
- Educate and counsel patients and families on presenting health problems, treatment plans, and home care, and encourage and promote preventative health care and positive health behaviors
- Request consultation or referral with other health care providers
- Actively maintain knowledge of current medical research and trends, and support research projects
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program
- Licensure and Certifications: Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the State of Arkansas, current national certification and BLS certification required
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in a previous clinical role, preferably in gastroenterology or related specialty.
Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50lbs. This position will spend 20% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment.
