IT (ERP) PROJECT MANAGER
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of the Chief Information Officer, the IT (ERP) Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all phases of the design, planning, and implementation of assigned technology projects, including large and complex Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and associated technology projects throughout the Washoe County School District. This individual will perform a lead role in managing large, complex enterprise projects and programs in alignment with the District's technology plan. As a member of the IT and ERP teams, the Project Manager will work closely with vendors, including implementation partners and consulting firms, to ensure effective collaboration and accountability throughout the project lifecycle. The role includes promoting adherence to the organization's Project Management methodology and managing tasks for all phases of the project lifecycle from strategy to planning to transition to operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and analyze project proposals to determine timelines, budget limitations, and project execution processes.
- Establish work plans and resources for each phase of the ERP project and manage recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
- Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required activities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, vendors, the implementation partner, and the consulting firm to ensure alignment throughout the implementation process.
- Coordinate activities related to data migration, system configuration, testing, and user training, with strong collaboration across teams.
- Develop and implement detailed project communication plans to keep stakeholders informed.
- Maintain project documentation for compliance with bond and E-rate program requirements.
- Prepare and deliver both oral and written project status reports to the Director of IT, District leadership, and other key stakeholders.
- Conduct project risk assessments and develop mitigation plans as needed.
- Monitor and control project activities, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and integrity of information.
- Ensure that ERP project goals are met and aligned with the District's business objectives.
- Act as the liaison between the District and third-party vendors, including the implementation partner and consulting firm, ensuring deliverables meet project specifications and contractual obligations.
- Review vendor contracts and associated documentation, providing feedback to ensure alignment with District standards.
- Provide leadership, motivation, and support to project team members throughout the lifecycle, setting clear expectations and outlining work plans.
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external project stakeholders and foster positive working relationships across teams.
- Ensure that all District standards are met, and that technology systems are installed per specifications.
- Maintain thorough project documentation for compliance with bond and E-rate program requirements.
- Perform other project management duties as assigned, promoting adherence to the organization's Project Management Methodology for effective project execution.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
: Any combination of education/experience that could likely provide the required knowledge in qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and skills would be:
: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related field.
and
: Five (5) or more years of experience in project management, with expertise in ERP implementations or large-scale technology projects.
: PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification preferred.

Experience with Project Management software and the Microsoft Office suite highly desirable.
