Wasilla Area Seniors is Hiring an Office Assistant Near Wasilla, AK

Summary of Position: The purpose of this position is to greet and serve senior citizens and perform general reception and office duties. The position ensures the goals of WASI are achieved.

General Office Duties:

  • Answer multi-line phone, answer questions, transfer calls and take accurate messages
  • Use of general office machines - computer, fax, copier, laminating machine, calculator, cash register, postage meter
  • Daily cash receipts
  • Outgoing mail - postage, mail articles into the mailbox, certified, return receipt, and bulk mail to post office
  • Assist management team with day-to-day needs
  • Bank Deposits
  • Opening and Closing of Facility
  • Prepare posters, flyers, and announcements
  • Filing
  • Data Tracking

Skills and Abilities Required

  • Clean background check
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Cash handling experience
  • Ability to manage time effectively
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Ability to interact positively with seniors, family members and professionals

Skills and Abilities Preferred

  • One (1) or more years’ experience in an administrative support position or position of similar responsibilities
  • QuickBooks experience
  • Experience in senior center service provisions
  • Current valid Alaska driver’s license, clean driving record and proof of insurance
