Job Summary:
Part-Time Technician needed for an independent optometry practice in Watertown, WI. Must be enthusiastic with excellent people skills, have a passion for customer service, and be eager to learn.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with patient care and eye examinations.
- Taking patient histories, and current medications.
- Explaining the testing process to patients, preparing them, and administering tests on visual capabilities.
- Keeping records and inventory, and taking notes during examinations.
- Performing minor repairs on broken or damaged glasses.
- Lens verification with lensometry.
- Use of diagnostic instruments (i.e. lensometers, keratometers, and ophthalmometry) in order to assist the optometrist on staff.
- Additional duties may be assigned as needed (i.e. customer calls, dispensing eyewear, etc.).
- Potentially assist in patient check-outs and collection of payments.
Skills & Requirements:
- Computer proficiency necessary.
- Excellent customer service skills. Ability to explore the needs and priorities of customers by asking open ended questions with attention to details.
- Optical background preferred, but willing to train if applicant is a good fit.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Self-motivation, and ability to work under pressure.
- Hours would be Monday & Tuesday 8:45 am to 7:15 pm and Wednesday 8:45 am to 2:15 pm, with the option to fill in for staff on vacation.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 25 per week
