Pilot

ROLE:

This individual will report directly to the Aviation Manager and is responsible for safe operation of assigned flights. The Pilot in Command has the final authority in the operation of the aircraft but is expected to solicit input from Second in Command. This individual must ensure compliance with all Federal, state, local, international regulations, as well as Waupaca Foundry Inc. internal policies. Pilots represent Waupaca Foundry Inc. and must operate and interact with courtesy and professionalism.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

The duties of the Pilot in Command (PIC) include:

  • Acting as pilot in command of flights for which the pilot has been scheduled.
  • Providing excellent customer service to the passengers.
  • Complying with schedules and other directives governing the aircraft’s operation.
  • Ensuring that preflight inspections are performed.
  • Study weather conditions at destination, en route, while considering alternate airports and departure points.
  • Prepare flight plans.
  • Ensuring that the aircraft is clean and prepared for flight with all provisions on board for the safety and comfort of the passengers.
  • Reviewing and calculating the aircraft weight and balance, fuel on board and performance charts using checklists.
  • Monitoring & assisting the SIC in any duties necessary for the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of the aircraft.
  • Making decisions necessary to start, delay, or cancel flights and deviate the flight from planned route or destination in which operating conditions dictate.
  • On nonflying days (Monday through Friday from 0600-1630), be on call for a 2 hour show for any pop-up trips that may come up.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Aviation Manager.

Second in Command (SIC) duties include:

  • Responsible for working with the PIC of flight for the conduct and execution of assigned duties.
  • Pre-flighting & fueling aircraft, stocking the aircraft, cleaning the trash, and straightening up before and after flights.
  • Assisting the PIC with discharging safety responsibilities.
  • Providing excellent customer service to passengers.
  • Performing duties as assigned during flight preparation and flight.
  • Being prepared to assume the duties of the PIC in the event the PIC is incapacitated.
  • Being familiar with and following all FAR’s and company policies pertinent to assigned duties.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Aviation Manager.
  • On nonflying days (Monday through Friday from 0600-1630), be on call for a 2 hour show for any pop-up trips that may come up.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Pilot in Command (PIC):

  • Requires ATP-AMEL Certificate with appropriate type (Cessna Citation Excel) rating.
  • 1500 hours total time
  • Five hundred multiengine
  • One hundred hours in type (Cessna Citation Excel)

Second in Command (SIC) must have a minimum of:

  • Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating; Airplane Multi-Engine Land.
  • Five hundred Hours total time
  • One hundred Multiengine

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • Ability to safely fly advanced technology aircrafts and manage all its systems.
  • Ability to safely fly an aircraft in various weather conditions, various types of airport environments, and various terrain conditions.
  • Ability to obtain and interpret weather information from various sources.
  • Ability to calculate aircraft performance for all phases of flight.
  • Ability to use effective Crew Resource Management skills in communicating with other crew members.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner with all passengers.
  • Obtain a 1st Class FAA Medical (minimum), twice a year, for travel outside the country as required for PIC purposes. Minimum 2nd Class FAA medical, once a year, for SIC privileges.
  • Ability to pass initial Flight Safety training and attend recurrent (yearly) training for each aircraft.
  • Display computer skills to check flight schedules, weather, emails, and other pertinent information from company computers, iPad, and phones.

ADDITIONAL TRAVEL INFORMATION:

  • Regular travel is routine and an essential job function.
