Summary:
The Project Manager III in the Telecom industry plays a pivotal role within the General Contractor setting, overseeing the installation of telecom equipment on cell towers. This senior- level position is responsible for managing multiple complex projects simultaneously, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Project Manager III acts as the primary point of contact between clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, fostering strong relationships and ensuring seamless communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Project Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budgeting. Oversee all aspects of project execution, from initial site surveys to final inspections.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a diverse team of project coordinators, crew leaders, technicians, and subcontractors, ensuring effective collaboration and high performance.
- Client Management: Serve as the primary liaison with clients, ensuring their requirements and expectations are clearly understood and met.
- Provide regular updates on project status and address any concerns promptly.
- Solicit additional work based on exceptional prior performance.
- Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous quality control procedures to ensure all work meets industry and company standards and client specifications.
- Facilitate regular site inspections and audits to maintain high-quality and safety standards.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure projects remain on track. Address any issues that arise promptly and effectively.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all projects comply with relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies. Promote a culture of safety and ensure all team members adhere to safety protocols.
- Budget Management: Monitor project budgets closely, ensuring all expenditures are necessary and within allocated limits. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders, including clients, team members, subcontractors, and senior leadership.
- Provide detailed project reports and updates as required.
- Scoping, Submitting Bids: Conduct detailed project scoping and prepare competitive bids to secure new projects.
- Manage Project Documentation: Ensure all project documentation is up-to-date and accurately maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate Logistics and Resource Allocation: Manage logistics and allocate resources effectively to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
- This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with exceptional leadership and communication skills.
- The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the telecom industry, and in Verizon in particular, specifically in managing the installation of equipment on cell towers, and a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, and understanding of project documentation requirements.
- Soft Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills. Ability to work under tight deadlines and multitask effectively. Detail-oriented with a proactive approach.
- Industry-specific Knowledge: In-depth knowledge and understanding of telecommunications industry, AT&T standards and practices, and basic understanding of project management principles.
- Experience: AT&T, field experience, ex. Construction manager, safety experience or close-out specialist experience, Quality Assurance experience, Field Tech.
- Company experience: AT&T is required
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education Level: Associate degree required; Bachelor preferred.
- Professional Certifications: Minimum OSHA 10.
- Years of Experience: 6 years of combined field and office experience, with at least 4 years in the field(technical) and 2 years in office.
- Specific Experience or Projects: Experience is required in working with AT&T through turf vendors such as Jacobs, Mastec, Ericsson, Qualtek/Infraservice, Black & Veatch/Ansco, and similar organizations.
Salary : $110,000 - $130,000
