Kindergarten and Recess/Lunch Paraprofessional

Hours: 4.5 hours (9:00-1:30 on student contact days)
Class: IV
Starting Rate of Pay: $20.81

Position Description:
The person in this position will be responsible for supervising kindergarten students during the school day (3.5 hours/day) as well as lunch/recess for grades 1-5 (1.0 hour/day). The successful candidate will work 4.5 hours a day and have the chance to support the learning of kindergarten students as well as the smooth running of the playground. The kindergarten duties include small group work/support, read alouds, 1:1 student interaction and assessment, supervision of an entire classroom, kindergarten recess, etc. The lunch/recess duties include supervising students, teaching games, managing student conflicts, etc.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with young children, preferably in a school environment
• Ability to take direction
• Ability to multitask and supervise students in an environment that is highly engaging
• Flexibility and patience
