What are the responsibilities and job description for the Middle School Youth Camp Assistant (Summer Only) position at Wayzata Public Schools?
- Supervise and Support: Guide and oversee large groups of children in classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, and lunchrooms, encouraging peaceful conflict resolution and maintaining a harmonious environment.
- Ensure Safety: Direct student movement safely between activities, monitor attendance, and ensure a secure atmosphere.
- Lead Activities: Organize and supervise engaging group games and activities.
- Collaborate and Assist: Work closely with staff to implement behavior plans, support classroom and lunchroom setups, and assist with cleanup.
- Build Relationships: Greet families warmly, answer questions, and address concerns with care and professionalism.
- Maintain Equipment: Oversee outdoor play equipment and report any safety hazards promptly.
- Ability to supervise and connect with children in a positive and supportive manner.
- A knack for anticipating and responding to changing situations calmly and effectively.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with staff and families.
- Attention to safety, including identifying potential risks and addressing them appropriately.
