Overview of Position
The Beverage Manager is a critical role that ensures that the WeRise wine program is managed effectively and efficiently. In this role you will work closely with winery partners, distributors, and vendors. You will manage the wine club allocations, deliveries, and shipments. You will ensure appropriate rotation of wine selection between the club, online bottleshop, retail bottleshop, and the bar. You will assist in executing on events with non-profit and corporate customers. You will be responsible for ensuring the customer experience is maintained following the brand strategy guidelines for storytelling. You will work closely with operational and bar staff. You will drive creativity through managing newsletter content.
Job Requirements
- Collaborate with Bar Manager to track bar wine inventory
- Order inventory as stock levels deplete
- Manage relationships with corporate partners
- Collaborate on menu revisions and wine pairings
- Assist in selection and curation in new winery partners
- Assist in wine buying and wine tasting
- Manage monthly wine club allocations
- Curate wine selections for events
- Assist with deliveries and shipments of wine
- Experience working with wineries and strong understanding of wine varietals
- Assist with fulfillment of online retail wine orders
- Strong storytelling alongside wine knowledge
- Assistant creation of newsletter and wine bottle features and discounts
Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communicator
- Functional knowledge of Square POS
- Wine certification WSET or similar strongly preferred
- Experience in beverage management
- Experience developing compelling events
- Ability to develop newsletter content
- Proactive in issue resolution
- Able to travel ~10% of time to attend conferences/wineries as necessary
