Job Summary
The Director of Nursing is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the nursing department within our healthcare facility. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the nursing team to ensure optimal patient care delivery.
- Oversee the development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Conduct regular documentation reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with medical records standards.
- Supervise nursing staff, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans for patients.
- Utilize knowledge of physiology to assess patient needs and guide treatment decisions.
- Ensure that all nursing practices align with Medicare requirements and standards.
- Stay updated on best practices in skilled care and nursing management.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license required; Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing preferred.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, MDS assessments, and documentation review processes.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on quality improvement in patient care.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
