Position Overview:
The District Manager is responsible for overseeing operations, safety, and performance across the assigned district(s) for West Penn Heavy Haul LLC. This role ensures that rig moves are completed efficiently, safely, and within budget. The District Manager will lead and mentor a team, drive operational improvements, and collaborate with other departments to ensure the successful execution of heavy haul rig moves and transportation operations. This position will involve occasional travel to the corporate office in Shelocta, PA (approximately 5% of the time).
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations for assigned district(s), ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Manage resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to meet rig move requirements and deadlines.
- Order necessary permits for all rig moves, ensuring compliance with regulations and local jurisdiction requirements.
- Foster a safety-first culture by ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations and conducting regular safety audits and training.
- Develop and implement plans, timelines, and budgets for rig moves, monitoring project progress and performance.
- Manage and resolve any issues related to rig move execution, including logistics, customer satisfaction, and operational challenges.
- Work closely with senior leadership to drive strategic initiatives, operational goals, and company objectives across the district.
- Coordinate with other districts and departments to ensure alignment and efficiency in company operations.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to direct reports, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Maintain client relationships and manage expectations to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
- Ensure proper documentation of work, including reporting on rig move status, safety incidents, and financial performance.
- Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities for the district.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a District Manager or in a similar managerial role in the heavy haul, construction, or related industry.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple rig moves and priorities.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, logistics, and operational best practices within the heavy haul or transportation industry.
- Experience in ordering and managing permits for rig moves.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to travel 5% of the time to the corporate office in Shelocta, PA and other district locations as needed.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
Work Environment:
- Primarily office-based with frequent travel to district job sites and project locations.
- Occasional travel to the corporate office in Shelocta, PA (approximately 5%).
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required depending on project needs.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
- Must be able to pass a drug screening and physical examination as required.
