What you can expect as a Lead, Interior Technician at West Star:
This position requires the knowledge of repair and refurbishment of cabin and crew seats, divans, curtains, etc. on world class business aircraft. It includes varying amounts of understanding repair drawings, inspection of aircraft or systems, work order processing, scheduling, parts replacement, services and log book entries. Supervision of the team and direction of project flow will be a primary function. Job duties will vary each day and will encompass projects as designated by the Manager. Will be required to work independently and lead multiple projects. Will have direct customer contact.

You Will Be ESSENTIAL To Many FUNCTIONS Including
- Performing basic to advanced foam build ups, patterning and sewing of seat parts and other upholstery items
- Ability to perform minor modifications
- Perform daily turnover sheets
- Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment, and tooling
- Basic computer skills to be able to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases
- Cleanliness of shop and surroundings
- Work independently on projects and lead multiple projects as assigned. Schedule and work quality are essential in these functions, as is showing excellent drive and initiative.
- Work with customer in project management, pricing and customer support roles.
- Lead the team to complete the necessary jobs/tasks without the benefit of other crews or managers on-site during the majority of your shift. Includes using good judgement in handling day-to-day tasks, and knowing when to involve your manager
- Look for opportunities (within your area of responsibility) to reduce turn time of aircraft
- Grow the shift into the future
- Train/mentor your employees
- Supervise team members in daily work and project management for completion of projects.
- Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English
- Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
