Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Goalkeeper Coach to join our soccer coaching staff. This role involves developing and implementing specialized training programs to enhance the technical, tactical, physical, and mental performance of goalkeepers at all levels. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the goalkeeper position, effective coaching methods, and the ability to inspire and develop players within a team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Training & Development:
• Design and deliver goalkeeping training sessions focusing on technical skills (e.g., shot-stopping, distribution, handling, positioning) and tactical awareness (e.g., reading the game, communication, organizing the defense).
• Develop personalized training plans tailored to individual goalkeepers’ strengths and areas for improvement.
• Monitor and evaluate goalkeepers’ performance during training and matches, providing constructive feedback and actionable improvement strategies.
2. Match Preparation:
• Analyze opponents’ attacking strategies and provide specific training to prepare goalkeepers for upcoming matches.
• Work closely with the head coach to align goalkeeping tactics with overall team strategy.
• Support goalkeepers with mental preparation and confidence-building techniques before and during matches.
3. Scouting & Recruitment:
• Identify and recommend talented goalkeepers for recruitment, using scouting reports and performance evaluations.
• Assist in the assessment of opposition goalkeepers as part of match preparation.
4. Collaboration & Communication:
• Collaborate with the coaching staff to ensure seamless integration of goalkeepers into team training sessions.
• Provide regular progress reports on goalkeepers to the head coach and other relevant stakeholders.
5. Professional Development:
• Stay updated on the latest techniques, technology, and trends in goalkeeper coaching.
• Attend relevant coaching courses, seminars, and workshops to maintain and enhance qualifications.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Proven experience as a goalkeeper coach, preferably at a competitive or professional level.
• Coaching certifications such as UEFA Goalkeeping Licenses, USSF Licenses, or equivalent qualifications.
• Strong technical and tactical knowledge of the goalkeeper position.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire players.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate performance and implement improvement strategies.
• Passion for player development and a collaborative approach to working within a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working with various age groups and skill levels.
• Background in sports psychology, fitness training, or performance analysis.
• Proficiency in using video analysis tools and technology for player development.
Work Environment:
This position involves on-field training, travel for matches, and occasional administrative duties. Flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends, is required.
