Job Description Summary:
The Warehouse Specialist, under the general supervision of the Warehouse Specialist Lead, performs a variety of warehousing duties for the U.S. Army’s Enhanced Army Global Logistics Enterprise (EAGLE) Logistics Support Services contract. This position involves tasks such as verifying materials against receiving documents, routing materials to prescribed storage locations, storing, stacking, or palletizing materials, rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials for deterioration and damage, and preparing materials for shipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verifies materials against receiving documents and notes/reports discrepancies and damages.
- Routes materials to prescribed storage locations.
- Ensures proper storage, stacking, or palletizing of materials in adherence to established storage methods and safety guidelines.
- Conducts regular inventory checks and accurately updates inventory records as necessary.
- Examines stored materials for signs of deterioration or damage, and reports findings to supervisory personnel.
- Prepares materials for shipment by safely and securely packaging them according to shipping requirements.
- Performs the duties of the Sensitive Item Storage Specialist, including conducting inventories of sensitive items and providing required reports to supervisors.
Minimum Requirements:
- Fluent in reading and writing English.
- At least 3 years of experience as a warehouse, shipping/receiving clerk, or similar occupation.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (50 lbs).
- Ability to operate hand or power trucks for performing warehousing duties.
- Valid State driver's license and car insurance for access to military installations and travel.
- Eligible for and able to obtain a U.S. Government motor vehicle operator's permit for assigned class of vehicle.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and the Microsoft Office suite (e.g. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and storage plans.
- Attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies and damages.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to efficiently rearrange and take inventory of stored materials.
- Ability to work independently and accurately follow instructions.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to recognize and solve problems effectively.
- Effective communication skills for reporting discrepancies and damages.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of safety procedures for warehouse operations.
