Early Head Start Teacher

Western Dairyland Head Start is hiring a full-Time, full-Year Early Head Start Teacher to work at our newly opening Early Head Start Center in Independence, WI. This position will be scheduled Monday-Friday.

The Early Head Start Teacher is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the daily educational and social activities of young children enrolled in an Early Head Start Classroom. The work also requires direct contact with the parents to involve them in planning and cooperating with the Head Start program. The Early Head Start Teacher will also be responsible for assisting the Center Manager in planning, implementing, supervising, and evaluating the Early Head Start Program.

This position will implement positive guidance and effective teaching practices, incorporate Head Start School Readiness outcomes into teaching practice, lesson planning and classroom set up. Conduct ongoing assessment to evaluate each children’s development level, integrate that data in individual and group planning to ensure inclusion and all children and intentional teaching.

An ideal candidate will have a minimum of an associate degree in early childhood education, Child Development Associate Certificate, and have been trained in early childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler development. Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to complete a criminal background check.

• This position will transition to a four day work week beginning September 2025. The Schedule will change to 9 hours Monday - Thursday.

Salary range for associate degree: $20.26-25.33

Salary range for a bachelor’s degree: $20.92-26.15
