Classified Advisor/Receptionist - Part Time

Responsible for receiving, inputting, classified advertising, and telemarketing of classifieds and special display advertising. In addition to performing receptionist and day-to-day- office duties: excellent computer skills and ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment. This position has a base rate of pay and commission structure. This is not a remote position; in office/onsite Cottonwood, AZ. office location.

Essential Functions:

1. Accepts and places classified reader ads from individuals and businesses on the phone and over the counter. Posts cash in advance payments for classified reader ads. Sends tear sheets to customers requesting them.

2. Solicits additional sales from customers through additional features available. Regularly solicits non-advertisers from competing print products.

3. Informs customers about customer benefits, set-up and pricing of classified reader ads. Handles remakes, extensions, renewals, corrections and kills of classified reader ads. Secures testimonials from satisfied customers.

4. Calls customers for renewals of monthly service directory ads.

5. Sells special pages as assigned by manager. Processes public notice/legal advertising.

6. Performs collection calls as requested by manager. Brings to the attention of management problems that may occur so the problems may be handled in the best and proper manner.

7. Processes circulation starts and stops on the computer received via phone or in person. Takes circulation customer service calls in the absence of the circulation clerks and reports to management.

8. Takes photos for classified ads using digital camera.

9. Answers the telephone and greets visitors directing them to the appropriate party.

10. Processes daily mail; sorts, opens and distributes to proper personnel.

11. Exceeds customer’s expectations in a courteous and professional manner. A customer is anyone who contributes directly or indirectly to the revenues of the organization.

12. Basic knowledge of office equipment including computers, email, fax machines, scanners and copiers. Types 50 words per minute accurately.
