Key Responsibilities:

Food Preparation & Cooking:
- Prepare hot and cold meals according to recipes for various dining areas (dining room, healthcare centers, special events).
- Ensure meals are eye-appealing, tasty, and properly portioned for the residents and guests.
- Complete meal temperature checks and formal evaluations to ensure quality and consistency.
- Make recipe substitutions while maintaining quality and communicate changes with the culinary team.

Sanitation & Safety:
- Adhere to safety and sanitation guidelines, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Safely operate kitchen equipment and regulate cooking times and temperatures.
- Maintain cleanliness in work areas and ensure proper storage of raw and leftover food.

Team Leadership & Training:
- Lead by example on the floor and assist in training and developing the culinary team.
- Help with training new staff and ensure they follow proper procedures.
- Participate in the development and planning of daily specials and catered events.

Customer Service & Communication:
- Provide friendly and efficient service to residents and guests.
- Address complaints, suggestions, and feedback from residents, ensuring solutions are implemented.
- Develop strategies to improve resident satisfaction, such as pairing food and drinks for special events.

Regulatory & Documentation:
- Ensure all food preparation meets department standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records for meal preparation, food waste, and other related processes.
- Report hazardous conditions or incidents promptly.

Catering & Special Events:
- Assist in the preparation of meals for catered events both on and off premises.
- Assist with event planning and ensure the smooth execution of food services.

Payroll & Administrative Tasks:
- Assist with payroll and annual reviews for culinary team members.
- Contribute to the standardization of work methods and food service production.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques, including complex recipes.
- Ability to lead and work as part of a team, offering guidance and support to junior staff.
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and safety protocols.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization.
- Strong communication skills, both with staff and residents.
