What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ministry Assistant position at Westmont Christian Church?
1. General Responsibilities and Accountability: The Ministry Assistant shall have a primary focus of having the office open during regular work hours to answer calls and meet with visitors. They will work collegially with all staff, committees, Elders, and the General Board. Accountability for the Ministry Assistant position rests with the Senior Minister, Associate Minister of Administration, and the Personnel Committee of Westmont Christian Church.
2. Office Administration: The Assistant will have a wide range of responsibilities in the areas of finance, record keeping, and other duties as assigned. These duties include, but are not limited to:
· Maintain current information in QuickBooks and Breeze, including
· Payroll
· Bill Payment
· Deposits
· Bank Statement Reconciliation
· Contribution Records
· Weekly Attendance and Guests Information
· Closely work with General Board Treasurer and Chair of the Elders
· Benevolence Records
· Update Prayer Concerns
· Maintain Office Supplies
· Maintain Digital and Physical Files
· Board Meeting Reports
· New Employee Forms
3. Work Week and office hours: The Assistant will work Monday-Thursday, 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM. Holidays that fall during the work week are paid holidays.
4. Salary: Hourly pay is $17.00/hour.
5. Vacation: The Assistant is entitled to 10 days of personal leave/vacation/sick days annually. Vacation schedule should be approved by the Personnel Committee and submitted to the Senior and Associate Pastors.
6. Review: This MOU will be reviewed annually by the Assistant and the Personnel Committee and will be adjusted or changed as necessary. In addition, this MOU shall be available for review by all members of Westmont Christian Church.
