GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Floor Tech/Custodian is responsible for major floor care projects and trash disposal.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
Essential Job Duties:
Maintains floors and carpets within the Community.
- Picks up and removes major trash from the Community.
- Event set-up/tear down as needed within the Community.
- May assist with general housekeeping duties in homes, apartments, Care and Wellness Center and other areas as needed, to include the 7-Step Cleaning Process in all areas.
- May assist with general housekeeping duties of hallways, common areas, offices, beauty shop and other areas as directed by the supervisor.
- Assists with restocking of paper products, soap, hand sanitizer, etc. in all restrooms and other areas as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining and logging completed duties daily in the EVS audit notebook.
- Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor.
Other Duties:
- Maintains all equipment and supplies in proper condition.
- Maintains Environmental Services cart and janitor closets to assure proper stock of supplies, cleanliness and organization.
- Adheres to proper chemical use as directed by manufacturer.
- Assures proper PPE is worn while performing duties.
- Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
- Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
- Maintains resident confidentiality at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.
- Previous floor maintenance experience preferred but not required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Moderate to heavy physical effort 95% of the workday. Must be able to stand and walk long distances up to 8 hours per day. Must be able to stoop and work from a kneeling position, perform repetitive bending, reaching, and stretching. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. independently. Must be able to push and/or pull wheeled carts and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs. over tiled and carpeted surfaces over long distances. Must be able to operate a vacuum, work in confined spaces around furniture and breakable objects, and have constant contact with residents. May be exposed to communicable diseases including influenza, HIV and Hepatitis. May be exposed to unpleasant odors, high heat levels, exterior elements when removing trash from buildings and institutional cleaning chemicals.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
