As the Building Operations and Safety Technician you are responsible for the security of Whitney Center and providing support to the Building Operations team. This includes but is not limited to supporting the maintenance aspects of the building via preventive maintenance, responding to building emergencies (fire alarm, water leak, elevator issues), etc. Supporting the safety component of the organization by rounding, responding to resident and team members concerns and working with other departments to support the customer service aspect of the organization. In this role you will interact with our customers. As such it is your responsibility to promote a positive work environment and maintain positive work relationships. It is important in this role that you adapt to changing demands courteously and professionally.

Daily Tasks
Include the following:
1. Provide building operations and safety support, which includes but not limited to; completing active rounds throughout campus; check grounds, check internal/external doors.
2. Responding to building emergency situations, including but not limited to water leaks, plumbing, HVAC and elevators.
3. Fire safety and fire response
4. Perform preventative maintenance and equipment repair as needed.
5. Responsible for snow removal, sanding of assigned areas and other seasonal tasks as directed.
6. As needed, assist community nurse during emergency situation (s).
7. Responsible for participation Personal Emergency Response System.
8. Responsible for package inventory and delivery.
9. Other duties as assigned
Education:
- High-school diploma or equivalent. Graduation from a trade school preferred.
- CPR/First Aid Certification is required.
Professional Experience:
- A minimum of one year experience. In addition, the ability to understand computers and the ability to use a tablet for data entry is required.
- Must have valid drivers license.
- The ability to be adaptable to ongoing change and work in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays.
Condition of Employment:
Candidate must successfully complete Pre-Employment Medical Clearance consisting of a Physical, PPD, Drug Test.
