What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Attorney position at Whitten Law Office, LLC?
WHITTEN LAW OFFICE LLC is a group of trial attorneys who focus their practices on, and service clients in, the transportation and logistics industry in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Illinois. Our Indianapolis office has an opening for an Associate Attorney with approximately five years of civil defense litigation experience (transportation/trucking defense experience preferred, but not required). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work primarily on a remote basis, attending in person hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials when necessary. We handle cases statewide so the successful candidate may reside in any county in Indiana. We will offer the successful candidate a competitive salary, with additional wages for health insurance procurement, disability insurance, 401K, and other benefits.
The successful candidate for this position must be licensed to practice in Indiana and have experience handling personal injury defense litigation in state and federal courts. Additional licensure in Kentucky while not necessary, would be viewed favorably. The successful candidate will possess superior research and writing skills; will have experience drafting and responding to written discovery; will know how to conduct witness interviews and take and defend discovery depositions; and will know how prepare a case for trial. Flexibility for business travel is required.
