Job Summary
The Medical Director oversees all clinical aspects of Whole Family Health Center’s programs, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care for diverse populations. This role balances direct patient care with administrative duties, focusing on improving pharmacy capture rate, managing provider performance, and aligning clinical services with the organization's mission. The Medical Director provides strategic leadership to a multidisciplinary team to promote health equity and achieve productivity, quality, and compliance goals.
Key Responsibilities
Direct medical oversight of health programs across multiple locations.
Ensure high-quality care for a diverse patient population including the underserved.Develop and implement clinical protocols, guidelines, and policies.Lead efforts to reduce health disparities and improve population outcomes.Collaborate with senior leadership to align clinical services with organizational goals.Provider Management & KPIs :Recruit, train, and manage healthcare professionals.
Regularly evaluate provider performance and ensure productivity and quality targets are met.Meet with providers to review KPIs such as productivity, patient panels, no-show rates, and pharmacy capture rate.Foster a collaborative and innovative working environment.Quality Improvement :Collaborate with the Director of Quality to lead the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Program, overseeing peer reviews, audits, and patient satisfaction.
Work with pharmacy and clinical staff to update policies that enhance care quality.Ensure compliance with regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and others.Track clinical outcomes and pharmacy capture rates using data analytics, monitoring HEDIS, UDS, and PCMH standards.Direct Patient Care :Maintain a patient panel while balancing clinical and administrative duties.
Provide preventive care and chronic disease management.Serve as a model for best practices in patient care.Education & Training
Medical degree (MD or DO) and board certificationLicensed to practice in Florida.Experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Medical Director in a mid-sized FQHC, community health center or larger.Strong leadership, management, and communication skills.Knowledge of CQI initiatives and quality benchmarks such as HEDIS, UDS, and PCMH.Proficient in Electronic Health Records (EHR)Commitment to serving underserved communities.Requirements
