OBJECTIVE:

Under general supervision and guidance of the Ice Arena Manager, the Ice Arena Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness of the Ice Arena.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports to: Ice Arena Manager

Works with and communicates with other Ice Arena staff, customers and the general public.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

* Keeps all areas and fixtures in restrooms, locker rooms and hallways cleanly

* Sweep, vacuum and mop all floors, general use locker rooms and bleacher area in Ice Arena

* Remove trash, sweep and mop bleacher areas

* Clean warming room and birthday party room

* Empty all trash and recyclable containers

* Clean all rink glass

* Dust areas as needed

* Maintain and inventory all cleaning supplies, soap and paper

* Other duties as assigned

RECCOMMENDED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the essential duties of the position.

Education, Certifications and Experience:

* Must be 18 years of age or older

Ability to:

* Follow city/department/division policies, work independently and make sound decisions.

* Be dependable and assume responsibility

* Establish and maintain effective working relationships with city employees, division professionals, staff, customers and the general public.

* Work mornings Tuesdays and Thursdays year-round.

PHYSICAL FACTORS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by any an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

* Work will take place indoors in an ice arena setting.

* Working conditions involve occasional exposure to dirt, dust, and moisture.

* Perform basic activities, which may include, but not limited to: lifting, stooping, semi-reaching to full-reach overhead, crouching, kneeling, bending, twisting, turning, and lying on stomach and/or back.

* Must be able to sit or stand and move for long periods of time.

* See and observe all sections of an assigned area of responsibility, with or without reasonable accommodation.
