Description of Work

- Position is in Child Support Team which establishes, monitors, and enforces child support collection orders. Responsibilities include interviewing customers to obtain information on absent parents, locating absent parents, counseling parents regarding their responsibility of their dependent children, which includes coaching on relationship building, monitoring, modifying and enforcement of the child support arrest orders. Responsibilities also involve contact and coordination with the Child Support Attorney, Clerk of Court for court orders requiring court action, Sheriff Deputies and other states. Referrals to the court systems require extensive preparation of legal documents and utmost accuracy. Requires extensive use of personal computer; Microsoft software and automated Child Support System. Requires the ability to work effectively in a teamwork setting and maintain a cooperative and effective working relationship with team members, peers, and agency leaders. Must have a valid driver's license as well as dependable transportation. Must possess and be able to demonstrate intermediate personal computer skills. Minimum Education and Experience
A four year degree and six months experience in eligibility, investigative, judiciary, or legal work that provides knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform the work; or an Associate degree in business administration, human resources, law enforcement or closely related degree and two years of experience in eligibility, investigative, judiciary, or legal work that provides knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform the work; or graduation from high school and three years of experience in eligibility, investigative, judiciary, or legal work that provides knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform the work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
