Job Position: Warehouse Worker
Job Location: Stone Mountain, GA
Reports To: Warehouse Manager
Job Summary:
The position is responsible for driving a Forklift/PIT (Power Industrial Trailer) to load and unload trailers, ensures movement of raw and packaging materials of finished product from Warehouse to Production, pulls and verifies orders, receives shipments, checks deliveries of product from trailer, and performs other tasks assigned by supervisor, manager, or group leader.
Core Job Responsibilities:
- Pulls orders in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Loads trailers, ensuring optimum space utilization, maintains accurate loading documents.
- Receives shipments coming into the warehouse. Checks deliveries to determine authorization, correctness and damage, if any.
- Maintain a constant count and visual inspection of product to ensure the correct product and number is received.
- Maintains a daily, clean and proper appearance of product.
- Sweeps walk and drive aisles on a daily basis to maintain clean warehouse.
- Repackages damaged product as needed.
- Makes sure all paperwork is completed and turned into the warehouse office.
- Sweeps and mops warehouse.
- Carries and dumps trash cans. Maximum weight 50 pounds.
- Performs preventive maintenance checklist on the forklifts.
- Participates in the training of new employees.
- Performs additional assignments and/or special projects that may require physical activity beyond those required functions of the job.
- Maintains housekeeping standards by keeping a clean work area at all times.
- Adheres to all good manufacturing practices (GMP), food safety, HACCP and SQF process requirements; rectify and/or report any and all non-compliance to Management or the SQF practitioner immediately.
- Follows WinCup OPERA Values, safety initiatives, and other related plant standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Competencies:
- Ability to follow directives with STM leadership, managers, supervisors, in ensuring productivity and target levels are sustained.
- Ensures all company policies and procedures including manufacturing and safety policies and procedures are followed at all times.
- Collaboration with plant and safety leadership.
- Ability to complete mandated new manufacturing training on equipment to maximize output efficiencies.
- Supports all current and new product introductions.
Education and Qualifications:
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
- Previous warehousing experience preferred
- Mathematical knowledge.
- Basic PC skills including Excel and use of web based applications to use FedEx, UPS and print labels.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
- Must be able to speak, read and write English in order to complete job specific paperwork.
- Ability to work independently and function as a team member.
- Good planning and organizing skills.
- Work mandatory overtime, early morning, late evenings and weekends when required during busy season, inventory, and for vacation coverage.
Physical Demands:
- In-doors in a manufacturing and/or environment that is not air-conditioned.
- Wear PPE while working which includes hairnet, hearing protection and safety glasses with side guards.
- May work 8 hour shift or 12 hour shift that begins at 6:50 a.m. for dayshift or a nightshift that begins 6:50 p.m.
- Required to work weekdays, weekends and overtime as needed.
Working Conditions:
- Work 8 or 12-hour shift while standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, grasping and lifting throughout the entire shift.
- Requires the manual movement of cases of finished goods and other objects such as bagger film that weight up to 40 pounds.
- 100% tobacco free workplace on all Company premises. Designated outside smoking area provided and must be followed.
