What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Advocate position at Windsor County Youth Services?
Windsor County Youth Services, The House at 20 Mile Stream, is a non- profit
homeless shelter/ residential program for youth in crisis. Our staff provide 24/7 care in a compassionate, consistent, caring, and trauma-informed environment. Our mission is to explore, develop and implement crisis prevention and early intervention programs for youth as well as to promote awareness of new and existing resources for healthier lifestyles and decision–making for youth and their families.
Windsor County Youth Services, WCYS, is seeking Advocates for 2 nd shift including
weekends. The House at 20 Mile Stream houses youth, 13 to 18, not only under the
care of the Department of Children and Families, but youth who reside in Windsor
County, that needs early interventions to stay under the care of their guardian. The goal of WCYS is to support youth during some of their most difficult times to stabilize so they can succeed in the next steps of their journey.
WCYS, The House at 20 Mile Stream is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Currently we are seeking two new team members.
1 st position: Sunday 9am-11pm, Monday 2:30pm-11pm and Tuesday 3pm-11pm
2 nd position: Thursday 2pm-11pm, Friday 3pm-11pm, Saturday 9am- 11pm
Both positions require you to attend weekly staff meetings from 1:45pm-4:30pm on
Wednesday.
The position is 32 hours a week and is a full-time position. The ideal candidate will be
passionate about working with youth, will have excellent relationship building skills and professional boundaries.
Job Description: Supervise the overall safety of the residents, house management,
and share information with the team through written and verbal communication.
All Advocates are expected to attend weekly staff meetings, Wednesday from 1pm-
4:30.
