Position: Maintenance Houseman

Wage Class: Non-exempt

Reports to: Facilities Manager

Department: Clubhouse

Essential Functions

1. Maintains and makes general repairs to the plumbing fixtures, furniture, woodwork, electrical systems, appliances, refrigeration, HVAC, elevators, ventilation system, and building structure of the club.

2. Conducts plumbing repairs such as leaking pipes and faucets and clogged drains.

3. Performs various duties including painting, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work.

4. Keeps the workshop areas safe, clean and well lighted.

5. Maintains heating, ventilation and air conditioning in good working order.

6. Maintains the fire alarm and security system.

7. Daily walk through of buildings to ensure all is in good order.

8. Maintain good preventive maintenance practices to ensure all mechanicals and equipment is maintained in good order.

9. Follow safety procedures with an emphasis on awareness, discipline, and compliance that conforms to OSHA standards

Marginal Functions

1. Maintains inventory of cleaning, maintenance repair parts and related supplies.

2. Responds to emergencies at any time.

3. Available for rotating on-call emergencies at night and weekends.

4. Perform other functions or duties that may be assigned by the supervisor or department head.

5. Ensures that all refuse and recycling is properly removed from the club premises.

6. Maintains accurate maintenance and repair records of equipment and machinery.

7. Assists with preparation of special functions, parties, tournaments, to include setting up of special events.

8. Performs tasks that include setting up for functions such as weddings, parties, dinners and special functions.

9. Move furniture for special functions.

10. Maintain the service area and men’s employee locker room and bathroom.

11. Perform other functions or duties that may be assigned to them by their supervisor or department head.

Environmental Demands

1. Exposure to extreme heat and bitter cold temperatures.

2. Exposure to various weather conditions.

Intellectual Demands

1. Education requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent, Trade School degree preferred

2. Experience requirements: 3-5 years as Building Maintenance Technician or apprentice trade

3. Ability to follow oral and written directions

4. Willingness to learn and adapt to new job tasks

5. Proactive in individual and group task settings

6. Ability to multitask and handle stressful situations.

7. Organized and self-motivated.

Physical Demands

1. Extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking for anywhere between 5-13 hours daily.

2. Heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.

3. Constant sitting, bending, carrying, reaching, stretching, and walking up/down stairs.

Pay: From $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 30 per week
