Experience and knowledge of marine electrical installations including medium and high voltage electrical systems, networks, and electro-mechanical systems, and AC to DC transformer systems. Install new systems to include electrical, plumbing, and mechanical on new construction vessels. Familiar with use of multi-meters, voltmeters, voltage testers, ammeters, ohmmeters, and other electrical testing tools and devices.
Tasks
- Bonding and wire runs for electrical systems, mechanical wiring systems, marine electronics installation, lighting, monitoring systems and audio/visual systems.
- Installs wiring, fixtures, and equipment such as radar, GPS, antennas, motors, batteries, pumps, underwater lights, and switches.
- Troubleshoot and install vessel systems and components including but not limited to HVAC, refrigeration systems, steering gear, plumbing & water systems (fresh, salt, and waste)
- Install diesel inboard engines, I/O engines and generators, and various outboard engines.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Drills holes to mount panels, fixtures, and wireways.
- Develops material lists for project completion.
- Communicate the need for parts to be purchased to Lead MEP Eng on the appropriate vessels/jobs.
- Interprets work orders and plans projects to be completed.
- Lay out, install, test, troubleshoot, and modify marine navigational, communication, and entertainment systems.
- Plumbing: Hose Runs, thru hulls, sea cocks, pumps, head accessories such as sinks and showers, hose connections, bilge systems, and fresh/raw water system.

Qualification
Education and Experience
Years of Experience: 5 (minimum) Highest level competency in both AC and DC electrical systems, electronics, plumbing, sanitation, and mechanical systems
Education High School Diploma or Equivalent
License, Certificate Or Registration
- ABYC Certified (preferred)
- Master Marine Technician (preferred)
