Job Description
The HR Manager is responsible for managing the ongoing HR-related activities at our Kirksville, MO and Chillicothe, MO plants. This is done in partnership with WireCo’s corporate HR team regarding talent acquisition, reward programs, administration of leaves, interpreting and administering company policies and practices. The successful candidate will be based at the Kirksville or Chillicothe, MO location with weekly travel between sites.

- Act as a single point of HR and employee experience contact for associates in the assigned region on HR-related matters, including but not limited to the administration of HR policies, benefits, processes, payroll, guidelines, and resources; work with other HR managers to ensure consistency across the organization.
- Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Ensure compliance with the Affirmative Action Plan.
- Lead employee relations activities, conducting thorough and objective investigations, assisting employees with questions related to healthcare, 401(k), life insurance beneficiary forms, and personal and medical-related leaves, escalating as appropriate.
- Provide onboarding support for new WireCo associates, ensuring a seamless transition to the organization including working with managers on the setup, coordination, and follow-up of onboarding efforts.
- Serve as consultant to management on HR-related issues including effective communication, team and individual development, associate engagement, practice/policy application, and other management challenges.
- Educate, coach, and partner with leadership and managers on performance management, conflict management issues, employee feedback, employee relations, and development and coaching.
- Support associate engagement initiatives in the region including execution of action plans and ongoing progress checkpoints—especially for lowest engaged teams—to help increase engagement and leadership effectiveness.
- Implement the performance management process, supporting manager documentation, communication, timelines, and potential termination protocol.
- Build strong business relationships and partnerships across all levels of the organization and collaborate with leaders to deliver creative solutions around business needs in support of priorities.
- Collaborate with the HR team to champion and accelerate a culture of excellence in which associates feel engaged and inspired to deliver top results.
- Maintain knowledge of collective bargaining agreements, unions, and labor relations. Assist with the preparation of documents and records required for contract negotiations, meetings, and negotiations with employee and labor organizations.
- Prepare and maintain reports generated from ADP. Maintain confidentiality of payroll and human resources information. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Human Resources and a minimum of 5 years of relevant HR experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and organizational skills with the willingness and ability to travel to Chillicothe and Kirksville, Missouri Plant locations.
- Ability to work independently, proactively, and professionally with minimal supervision and guidance.
- Ability to work in an office setting with extended times of sitting and computer work and meet with the associates on the plant floor.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating a high degree of initiative and confidentiality.
- Ability to coordinate multiple activities daily and possess exceptionally strong skills in attention to detail/accuracy/flexibility
- Ability to motivate, speak, train, and interact at different levels of the organization
- Ability to build and establish strong working relationships with associates and leaders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and a minimum of 5-7 years of relevant HR experience
- Experience recruiting and onboarding employees in a manufacturing/production environment
- Working knowledge of HRIS systems and business information (payroll/timekeeping) systems; ADP preferred systems experience
- Ability to build and establish strong working relationships with associates and leaders at all levels.

- Personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toed safety shoes
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- An applicant must complete a satisfactory background check post-offer of employment. A criminal conviction will not be an automatic bar to employment.
- Must be willing and able to pass a post-offer drug screen and physical (if required)
