Wiser Solutions is Hiring a Senior Accountant Near Remote, MA

The Senior Accountant will focus on general ledger accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, etc. in accordance with GAAP. The ideal candidate is one who is an intellectually curious, task-oriented professional who has a strong commitment to completing tasks accurately and on time and enjoys working on a global team.

Essential Functions of the Senior Accountant:

  • Perform month-end and year-end accounting close as directed by Assistant Controller
  • Supports year-end financial audits, tax filings, and regulatory filings.
  • Supports preparation of monthly internal consolidated financials and elimination entries
  • Verifies general ledger accounts by reconciling statements and recording transactions
  • Assists Order to Cash team with customer account reconciliations and collection efforts
  • Records daily cash receipts and provides key accounting data for weekly cash flow analysis
  • Analyzes and records prepaid expenses, escrow balances and related liability balance
  • Maintains Fixed Asset listing, calculates monthly depreciation and amortization, drafts city property tax returns
  • Creates amortization templates and maintains prepaid expense schedule
  • Responsible for calculating and preparing yearend tax Forms 1099 and Canadian Forms T4A
  • Records monthly benefit invoices for employee benefits (medical, dental, vision, etc)

 

Required Qualifications, Education, and Experience:

  • Accounting or Finance degree preferred and 4-7 years working experience.
  • Proficiency in Excel and NetSuite. Familiarity with Bill.com and Salesforce a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Able to multi-task the activities with shifting priorities.
  • Strong preference for self-motivated and self-starters who want to expand career in accounting or finance who takes pride in quality of their work as part of a fun but hard-working team.
  • Should be honest, thorough, and systematic and comfortable with steep learning curves.
  • Preference to candidates located near Wiser’s Boston office
