Job Summary
WIT Trucking is actively looking for a dispatcher to join our trucking company! We are looking for a candidate that has experience in the logistics field. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our transportation planning and supply chain operations. This position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to effectively communicate with team members and external partners. The goal of this position is to be successful at multitasking and have geographic proficiency.
Duties - Truck Dispatcher Responsibilities:
- Establishing a productive relationship with all drivers
- Scheduling drivers to make freight deliveries or collect shipments and packages.
- Communicating with customers about freight details, delivery or pickup times, and special handling requests.
- Planning pre-determined routes and accommodating route changes as needed.
- Preparing dispatch documents, as well as uploading freight bills and any freight documents.
- Maintaining records of dispatched calls, driver routes, route changes.
- Keeping track of transportation regulations and laws to ensure that truck drivers comply.
- Reviewing drivers’ logs, including dispatched calls and arrival times.
- Assisting with driver recruiting as needed & other duties assigned as needed.
- Negotiating rates and delivery time lines
- Documenting all calls, deliveries, routes and times for pickups and deliveries
Requirements
- Knowledge of DOT regulations
- Knowledge of DAT and Truckstop Load Boards
- Experience in transportation planning or supply chain management is preferred.
- Proficiency in Oracle Transportation Management is a plus.
- Familiarity with fleet management practices and 3PL operations is desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of GIS tools is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing individual responsibilities.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Overnight shift
- Rotating weekends
- Weekends as needed
