This position involves working with various tools and equipment, including Cisco routers, cabling, and fiber splicing. The Technician will be responsible for ensuring the proper installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications systems.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair telecommunications equipment and systems.
- Perform troubleshooting on electrical systems and network connectivity issues.
- Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment such as voltmeters for testing and diagnostics.
- Work with Cisco routers to configure and optimize network performance.
- Execute fiber splicing tasks to ensure reliable data transmission.
- Telecommunicate with clients to provide updates on service status and resolve issues.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Service Technician or in a similar role within the telecommunications field.
- Strong knowledge of computer networking principles and practices.
- Familiarity with electrical systems and the ability to work safely with high-voltage equipment.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and testing devices such as voltmeters.
- Experience with cabling techniques, including fiber splicing.
