Position Summary

Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning all areas on facility in order to provide a clean and safe environment for residents and staff.

Benefits

Sign-on bonus of $1,500 for full-time and pick-up pay of $5/hour. This is a bargaining unit position. Benefits for full-time employees include health insurance, vision dental insurance, life insurance, 401k plan with 4% employee contribution after 1 year of employment, short term disability, paid time off (PTO), employee assistance program, tuition reimbursement, and employee discounts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Clean and disinfect the residents’ rooms and bathrooms in order to provide and enhanced living experience in accordance with applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations and our established policies and procedures.
• Complete deep cleaning of residents’ rooms after discharge and prior to new admission in order to provide and enhanced living experience.
• Clean and disinfect the dining areas to provide and enhanced dining experience.
• Clean hallways, common areas, common restrooms and other designated areas to ensure an overall superior appearance to the facility.
• Completes necessary forms, reports, etc. in order to ensure smooth operations of the environmental services in accordance with applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations and our established policies and procedures.
• Addresses resident and family concerns in a professional manner and reports those concerns to the Director of Environmental Services.
• Assists in the inventory and storage process of incoming supplies, etc. and works to maintain accuracy and organization in this process within applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations and our established policies and procedures.
• Reports allegations of abuse/neglect and reports, as appropriate, to proper organization leadership.
• Reports hazardous incidents, including but not limited to, injuries, equipment, etc. to the appropriate Manager/Supervisor.
• Implements and follows disaster plans in the event of an emergency.
• Performs other job duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior experience working in a long-term care setting.
• Ability to learn new software application as required by the position.
• Requires excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with senior executives, managers, supervisors and direct care staff, as well as residents, families and physicians.
• Understands directions; communicates and responds to inquiries promptly.
