Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented General Contractor Foreman to oversee the day-to-day operations of our luxury custom home projects. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of high-end residential construction, an impeccable eye for detail, and a commitment to delivering superior craftsmanship. This role requires a leader who can manage multiple trades, ensure timely project completion, and communicate effectively with clients, architects, subcontractors, and team members.
The Luxury Custom Home Foreman will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of the project’s vision, ensuring quality control, and driving the overall success of our luxury home builds. As a key player in the project, your ability to manage complex details and foster clear communication across all stakeholders will be essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Supervision & Leadership:
- Oversee daily operations of luxury custom home construction sites, ensuring work is being completed to the highest standards.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, tradespeople, and laborers, providing guidance and leadership to ensure efficiency and quality.
- Act as the primary point of contact between the project team, clients, architects, designers, and other key stakeholders.
- Monitor and enforce adherence to safety protocols, industry standards, and local regulations at all times.
- Ensure all work performed is in line with the architectural plans and specifications.
- Quality Control & Attention to Detail:
- Review and inspect construction work daily to ensure it meets the company’s high-quality standards and the client’s specifications.
- Conduct regular site walkthroughs, identifying potential issues early and taking proactive measures to address them before they become problems.
- Ensure proper handling and installation of luxury finishes, materials, and fixtures, preserving their integrity and aesthetic value.
- Project Coordination & Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring that all milestones are met on time.
- Coordinate the sequencing of trades and deliveries of materials to keep projects on track and avoid delays.
- Ensure that the site is organized and clean, and that all materials, tools, and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
- Address any delays or issues promptly and work with the team to implement solutions.
- Communication & Client Relations:
- Maintain open, professional communication with clients, providing updates on progress, timelines, and potential issues.
- Foster a collaborative relationship with architects, designers, and other stakeholders, offering input and insights to help achieve the project’s vision.
- Address client concerns and feedback promptly, ensuring that their needs are met without compromising project quality or integrity.
- Document and report any project changes or unexpected challenges to the project manager, offering suggestions for solutions.
- Budget & Resource Management:
- Assist in the tracking and management of project costs, ensuring that expenditures stay within budget.
- Help with the procurement of materials and resources, ensuring they are of the highest quality and within budget constraints.
- Communicate any potential budget discrepancies or cost overruns to the project manager immediately.
- Track and log all change orders to keep budgets up to date and billing accurate.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce strict safety protocols and ensure that all workers are adhering to safety guidelines and best practices.
- Regularly conduct safety meetings and audits to maintain a safe work environment.
- Ensure that all required permits and inspections are completed on time.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in high-end residential construction, with at least 3 years in a leadership or foreman role on luxury custom home projects.
- In-depth knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction safety practices.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of luxury finishes, materials, and building techniques (e.g., custom cabinetry, high-end flooring, fine carpentry, etc.).
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others to deliver quality work.
- Impeccable attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work closely with clients, designers, and other stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., Buildertrend, Dropbox, Microsoft).
- Education & Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. A degree or certification in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is a plus.
- OSHA certification or equivalent safety training is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with architects and designers to interpret and execute luxury home designs.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to manage complex, unexpected challenges.
- Experience with LEED-certified and sustainable construction practices.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a big advantage, but not required.
