Canyon Fuel Company, a subsidiary of Wolverine Fuels, has an immediate opening for a full-time Surveyor/Drafter at the Sufco Mine which is an underground coal mining operation located approximately 30 miles east of Salina, Utah.
Responsibilities
Routine placement and checking of surveying sight for underground mining operations
Preparing and maintaining mine maps, civil, electrical, and mechanical drawings using AutoCAD
Preparing monthly volumetric assessments of mined areas and stockpiled tonnages
Conducting surface surveying activities, as required. This work will include subsidence surveys, property/permit area boundary descriptions, support for exploration activities and targeting for aerial surveys.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- 2-year Technical degree or equivalent work experience
- Experience in standard surveying principles/practices, calculations, and note reduction
- Excellent computer skills (AutoCAD, Civil3D, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel over uneven surfaces, climb/descend ladders, and lift/carry up to 50lb objects on a regular basis
Desired Qualifications:
- 4-year Technical degree of equivalent work experience
Professional Surveying License (PLS)
